SAINT PAUL, MN – Today, We Make Minnesota, a coalition of labor and progressive community organizations released the following statement in response to the state’s budget forecast, which will reportedly show that state revenues are rising:

“Minnesotans' needs do not change regardless of what the forecast shows, and neither does our commitment to care for all people across our state. We continue to have urgent needs to fund a future where all families have the healthcare, childcare, schools and roads that we need to thrive,” said Doran Schrantz, Executive Director of Faith In Minnesota, a We Make Minnesota coalition member.  “Today’s forecast highlights the economic reality facing millions of Minnesotans during the pandemic. Our uneven recovery has meant the richest people and corporations continue to get richer while too many Minnesota families fall further behind. Minnesotans deserve a state that works for all of us, no exceptions, and bold action to lift up our families and our shared future is long overdue.  It’s time for everyone to pay their fair share so every family in Minnesota can thrive.”
