Minnesotans Stand United:We will #CountEveryVote

This election season Minnesotans from Albert Lea to Austin, Minneapolis to Mankato, Red Wing to Red Lake voted in record numbers by mail, in-person early and on Election Day. Across race and place, we took part in our democractic process to have our voices heard. Minnesotans have made ourselves clear: we have chosen leaders who will move our state forward.  For the mothers and fathers, the grandparents who haven’t missed an election in decades, the farmers, first-time voters, the third-shift janitors, the immigrant voting in their first election, and every Minnesotan who filled out a ballot - we owe each other the most basic, fundamental action a government can do: count every vote.

This year has tested us in ways like no other in Minnesota history. As voters, we turned out in record numbers, despite a pandemic, an economic collapse, and attempts to stop us. Black or white, Latino or Asian, indigenous or immigrant, we make Minnesota. Any politician can declare whatever they would like, but it’s the will of Minnesota voters who decide.

We can and will count the vote of every Minnesotan who took the time to exercise our most fundamental right—our right to be heard as voters. We did not let anything get in the way of voting and we will not let anything get in the way of our votes being counted, so that the person the voters have chosen is the one sworn in. We will swear in a government of, by and for the people. We expect and demand nothing less. Count every vote.
